ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centered, evidence-based rehabilitation to patients with communication, speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to improving functional outcomes and enhancing quality of life for patients in a supportive and professional environment.
Our group practice at Nurture Stellenbosch in the Western Cape is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech Therapist (Fixed term) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- Current HPCSA registration and Malpractice Insurance
- Up to date CPD status
- Experience in a rehabilitation environment advantageous
- Special interest / expertise within Neurological conditions
- Valid driver’s license with own transport
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Good written and spoken English language skills (Afrikaans and Xhosa will be advantageous)
- Willing to work in acute, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation environments
- Awareness of evidence base for interventions
- Computer literacy (assessment and weekly reports for medical funders and Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to self-manage; prioritize workload, and adaptability
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills within a team setting
- Analysis; decision making and initiative-taking
