ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Hospital Manager, you will be responsible for leading the clinical and operational teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. You will manage daily hospital operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement through evidence-based practices. This is a pivotal role for a leader who thrives on innovation, collaboration, and compassionate care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide operational leadership to clinical and non-clinical teams within the hospital.
  • Plan and oversee daily operations to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality patient care delivery.
  • Use data (qualitative and quantitative) to monitor and report on hospital performance.
  • Implement the organisation’s policies, procedures, and systems to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain ongoing compliance with healthcare regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture in which individual employees can thrive.
  • Manage staffing, workforce planning, and recruitment in collaboration with HR.
  • Contribute to organisational quality-improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, employees, and other internal and external stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Applicant must hold current registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse or full registration with the HPCSA and bring solid hands-on experience within a clinical care setting.
  • Proven experience working within an ICU/High-care unit advantageous.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing a team of more than 25 people.
