Job Description

Our Therapy Group Practice at Nurture Health requires a Rehab Medical Doctor who will be based at Nurture Worcester physical rehabilitation facility in the Western Cape. This role is an exciting position comprising the opportunity to treat inpatient rehabilitation patients and build relationships with the referring specialists in the area. This successful applicant will form part of the facility leadership team.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • An MBChB. and full HPCSA registration.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Your own transport.
  • Professional indemnity cover.
  • Previous experience in an interdisciplinary team setting would be advantageous but is
    not essential.
  • Exposure to inpatient treatment, high care, ICU, and casualty, would be advantageous
    but is not essential.

 

COMPETENCY EXPECTATIONS:

  • Patient and family-centered approach.
  • Have strong communication skills and an ability to deal with a diverse range of patients and fellow team members.
  • An interest in working closely with an interdisciplinary team of nurses, therapists, and administrators.
  • Prepared to assume responsibility for the patients allocated to you, deal with some level of uncertainty, but know when to consult and liaise with other team members, referring doctors, and with consultants.
  • Have a strong clinical knowledge and skill base, and a hunger to learn more and be coached.
  • Be literate in MS Windows and MS Office.
  • Perform pre-admission patient rehabilitation evaluations guided by the Nurture Care Model.

 

MINIMUM REMUNERATION: R96 889,53 CTC (including benefits)
